Introducing Acoustifence™
Acoustifence is an economical way to reduce outdoor noise. It is a thin 1/8 inch
thick revolutionary sound deadening material, 6 feet by 30 feet long. It is hung via
grommets in the top edge to an existing fence or support pole. Multiple sections can be
overlapped to gain height desired. The material in Acoustifence is developed by
Acoustiblok to be used outdoors where an economical sound barrier is required. Unlike
open space fences or shrubs, this material does extraordinarily well in not only blocking
sound, but also (unlike solid materials) has a tendency to reduce some sound from
reflecting off of it.
Consider your noise source as a light bulb in a totally black night. The fence will
block direct light (the majority) from reaching you, but any surrounding structures or
foliage will allow some lesser reflections to reach you.
Independent laboratory tests resulted in an STC (Sound Transmission Class) of 28
dbA; this represents to the human ear a reduction of over 80%. This of course, is relative
to many other variables:
- The specific frequencies of the noise, as some are easier to block than others
- Other surrounding objects or foliage which will reflect sound over or around your
fence
- The wind and humidity
- Sealing of the gaps or joints in the fence
- Your particular position relevant to the position of all other objects which may
reflect sound.
“Sound Abatement” is a reduction in noise only; nothing is “sound proof”. As such
we encourage you to consult with us for maximum sound reduction. Performance is
relative to your installation.

Should you need advanced acoustical mapping we do provide such using the finest
calibrated Norsonic test eq in conjunction with the state of the art CADNA software.
This is, of course, rather expensive, but provides very accurate estimates. A big step up
from the Acoustifence are our All Weather Sound Panels which block more and
absorb virtually all sound striking them. Call or e-mail us
with your noise problem.

Acoustiblok RD350 roll dispenser
A commercial master roll of Acoustiblok weighs over 1500 pounds. The safest and most
reliable way to roll out, measure, and cut Acoustiblok on the jobsite, is to use our
RD350 custom custom jack stand kit. For your convenience, we can ship an Acoustiblok
roll stand kit with your order, including two jackstands and our
custom steel spindle made specifically to work with all Acoustiblok rolls.
Contact Acoutsiblok for pricing and availability.

NOTE: Always set up roll stands on a hard, level surface.
Acoustigrip Tape is specially formulated to form a permanant bond
with Acoustiblok material. Ordinary tape will adhere to Acoustiblok, but releases within
a few days due to elasticizers in the Acoustiblok material. All joints and penetrations
in Acoustiblok material must be sealed, to obtain rated sound reduction values.
Acoustiblok Sound Sealant is a fire-rated caulk with superior acoustical
isolation properties, formulated to bond to Acoustiblok material. All joints and penetrations
in Acoustiblok material must be sealed, to obtain rated sound reduction values. Available
in 10 oz & 29 oz tubes, and 20 oz "sausage packs".
Bulk Pack Caulk Gun An economical and effective tool for application of
bulk "sausage pack" Sound Sealant caulk. Saves time and money on large jobs.
GripRite Tin Caps are used with nails or screws, to attach Acoustiblok to wood or
steel studs, or other materials. The nails or screws alone will not reliably hold
Acoustiblok, which is soft and heavy enough to pull free of nails or screws under its
own weight. Available in 5 lb boxes.
Fast Cure Urethane Mastic is waterproof and will bond Acoustiblok to itself,
wood, metal, and most other surfaces. Not a contact cement - must hold in place while
curing - time depends on temperature and humidity. Available in 28 oz tubes.
AcoustiPad underlayment is installed under carpeting as an
integral component of floor/ceiling noise abatement designs using Acoustiblok material.
AcoustiWool underlayment is installed under wood or tile flooring as an
integral component of floor/ceiling noise abatement designs using Acoustiblok material.
Bostitch Cap Stapler Kit: The fastest and most efficient way to install
Acoustiblok on wood studs and similar materials that will accept crown staples. Apply
the staple and cap in one operation. Kit includes Stanley Bostitch stapler with staple
cap feeder. Staples alone will not reliably hold Acoustiblok, which is soft and heavy
enough to pull free of staples under its own weight.

Bostitch Staple Caps & Crown Staples can be included with your Acoustiblok
order. 1000 caps/pkg, 5000 staples/pkg.
